RUHPOLDING, Germany (March 9, 2012) - Team USA’s men had an impressive performance in Ruhpolding today with a 10th place finish in the 4x7.5K Relay. The team - Lowell Bailey (Lake Placid, NY), Jay Hakkinen (Kasilof, AK), Tim Burke (Lake Placid, NY) and Leif Nordgren(Marine, MN) - posted a time of 1:20:32.9 (0+5+0+9), 3:06.1 back from 2012 Relay World Champions, Team Norway (Bjoerndalen, Brattsveen, Boe and Svendsen) with a time of 1:17:26.8 (0+1+1+6).
France (Beatrix, S. Fourcade, Boeuf, M. Fourcade) finished 2nd with a time of 1:17.56.5 (0+5+0+5), and Germany (Schempp, Birnbacher, Greis and Peiffer) took 3rd (1:18:19.8/0+4+0+6).
