Jan 18 Team USA Set to Kick Off World Cup 6

ANTHOLZ_ANTERSELVA , ITA (January 18, 2012) -  Team USA takes to the course tomorrow for the start of the The E.On IBU World Cup 6 in Antholz-Anterselva, Italy.

Team USA’s women will compete in tomorrow’s 7.5K Sprint, with Susan Dunklee (Barton, VT) starting with bib 52, Annalies Cook (Saranac Lake, NY) 55, Sara Studebaker (Boise, ID) 77 and Tracy Barnes (Durango, CO) 83. Racing begins at 14:30 (CET). Watch online, live at www.BiathlonWorld.com

“The conditions here are beautiful, and it’s nice to have sunshine after two weeks of competition in bad weather,” said U.S. Biathlon High Performance Director Bernd Eisenbichler. “We like the course here, as it fits our technique.”

“We have normal expectations for the team this week,” added U.S. Biathlon National Men’s Team Coach Armin Auchentaller. “A lot of elements affect the biathlon race - the skiing, the shooting, good skis - and we try to prepare the athletes as best as possible for each race.”
