Meryl Davis and Charlie White win gold in ice dance, the first Olympic title in the event for Team USA. Davis and White scored a world record 195.52 points to win the gold medal over Canada’s Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir (silver) and Russia's Elena Ilinykh and Nikita Katsalapov (bronze). Team USA's Madison Chock and Evan Bates placed eighth (164.64) in addition to Maia and Alex Shibutani in ninth place (155.17), marking only the second time the U.S. placed three ice dance teams inside the top 10 at an Olympic Winter Games.
