Hilton HHonors Refurbishes United States Olympic Training Centers
To support Team USA before the London 2012 Olympic Games, Hilton HHonors launched the Support the Dream program, encouraging Team USA fans to submit good luck messages to U.S. athletes. For every message received, HHonors committed to donating $1 worth of hotel amenities to U.S. Olympic Training facilities.
In the end, HHonors received more than 190,000 messages and have since refurbished the training facilities. Check out some highlights from the stops across the country:
In Colorado Springs, Hilton HHonors shipped 960 blankets to the Olympic Training Center for the athletes to use. In addition, HHonors delivered new shower curtains, liners, and hooks to the USOC headquarters for its new fitness center.
In Chula Vista, 133 new bed pillows, duvet inserts and covers. Hilton Worldwide Team Members from the USOC’s Team USA Career Program – Jon Ginolfi, Britney Henry and Ciara Short – showed their support for Team USA athletes by taking time to spend their day refurbishing each dorm room.
The Lake Placid refurbishment wrapped up the Support the Dream campaign. Sixteen local Hilton Worldwide Team Members spent the day moving, unpacking and setting up items in each of the athlete dorm rooms. In addition, Team Members were able to take a mini-tour of the OTC facility, meet with resident athletes during lunch, and watch a freestyle sports demonstration before heading back to Burlington.
