Olympic Historian Dr. John Lucas Passes Away At 84

The following statement is attributable to USOC CEO Scott Blackmun:

“I was saddened to learn of the passing of Dr. John Lucas. As one of the world’s foremost Olympic historians, Dr. Lucas dedicated his life to preserving the Olympic ideals and advancing the Olympic Movement. He will be missed, though his legacy will most certainly live on thanks to his writings and scholarship. On behalf of the Olympic family in the United States, my sincere condolences to the friends and family of Dr. Lucas.”
