COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.-The United States Olympic Committee (USOC) announced today the promotion of Jerri Foehrkolb to Managing Director, Member and Event Services, and Debra Yoshimura to Managing Director, Audit. The promotions are effective immediately."Jerri and Debra have proven to be extremely valuable members of the U.S. Olympic Committee Team,"said Jim Scherr, USOC Chief Executive Officer."Jerri continues to raise the bar and improve the level of service and quality of USOC events. She has developed our USA House Business and Hospitality Center into one of the marquee integrated hospitality programs of the Olympic Games. Debra has steered the Audit Division toward greater efficiency and effectiveness since joining the USOC and has enhanced the organization's capabilities while improving our internal processes. I am proud to have both of them as integral members of our USOC Team."Foehrkolb has been a member of the USOC staff since 1998 when she was hired as Senior Manager of Corporate Services. She was promoted to Associate Director in 2001 and Director of Member and Event Services in 2003. In her role with Member and Event Services, she develops and manages Games hospitality, special events, and meetings and organizational support for the USOC. From 1989 to 1998, Foehrkolb was Director of Operations/Events with ProServ Inc., a sports marketing company. She graduated from Miami University, Oxford, Ohio, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business and was a four-year member of the field hockey team. Yoshimura came to the USOC in June 2006 as Director of Audit. In her position, she manages both the long-term and day-to-day operations of all USOC audit functions and evaluates the overall effectiveness of USOC accounting controls and operating practices. She also assists the National Governing Bodies (NGB) in understanding and achieving compliance with USOC requirements, which includes the review of NGB grant reports and the evaluation of NGB disbursement of athlete assistance funds. Yoshimura also serves as staff liaison to the USOC Audit Committee. Yoshimura joined the USOC after serving as the Director of Internal Audit for the University of New Mexico. She also spent 12 years at the City of Albuquerque's Office of Internal Audit where she was promoted to the position of Department Director. She is a graduate of the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology with a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Psychology and Texas A,M University-Corpus Christi with a Masters of Business Administration - Accounting Specialization.
