Corey Cogdell Blog - Back in action!

Wow what a week it has been and its only Tuesday!  This past weekend I drove down to Texas from Colorado to train with one of my coaches Bret Erickson. Bret is Also on the Olympic team this year so it is a great opportunity for me to be able to train with someone that is motivated with the same goal as me. Also Bret is a seasoned pro at the Olympics this being his 4th Olympic team so I am picking his brain as much as possible.

It has been great being back to shooting and hard training after a few weeks off but it is always a lot of work and a constant struggle to push myself to my limits.  A typical day training here in Texas starts about 8am with a quick breakfast then a short drive out to the range. We will open the range then get straight to work, we will shoot rounds of 25 targets, run drills or stage little competitions between myself and some of the other shooters. The shooting runs from about 9:30 to 2:30, around 3:00 I head to the gym for an afternoon workout that usually consists of cardio, lots of abs and some light upper body as I try not to wear out my arms because there is more shooting to come. After workout I head back to the range for a quick snack then another hour or so of shooting before calling it a day. After shooting we all sit back and relax for dinner out at the range, some reminiscing with the crew. After dinner I take this time to relax and enjoy some much needed practice shooting my bow out in the field behind the range.

On a more personal note what keeps me going and keeps me motivated through tough weeks like this week is the strength I draw from my faith so I would like to start sharing a weekly passage with you all. This week's passage is out of Titus 2:2-8 7 In everything set them an example by doing what is good. In your teaching show integrity, seriousness 8 and soundness of speech that cannot be condemned, so that those who oppose you may be ashamed because they have nothing bad to say about us.
