I thought before I talked too much about my life you probably would appreciate knowing a little more about me first.
My name is Corey Cogdell, I'm 21 years old and originally from Eagle River, Alaska. I am honored to say I am the lone woman selected to the USA Shooting Olympic Trap Team and I have been shooting internationally for about 2 years. This will be my first Olympic Games.
As I sit and reflect on the past few years I am almost in disbelief that the culmination of such a long standing dream is almost upon me. There is such a rush of emotions that go through me as I think about the Olympic Games and what I am about to experience.
I am currently taking a week off from hard training visiting my friends and family back home in Alaska. I have just been trying to give my mind a break from thinking about all the work that is ahead of me now that we are just a month away from the games. I have been having a great time home here in Alaska hiking, hunting, fishing and enjoying friends and family but in all truth, I am more ready than ever to dig in and make the final push to achieve my Olympic goals.
Over the next few weeks I will bring you along for what promises to be on heck of a ride leading up to the Olympics. I will be traveling to Texas to train with one of my coaches, back to Colorado to shoot my final match before the Olympics, back to Texas for more training then the whirlwind of the Olympics Games, the final show down.
Check back for weekly updates!
