AMSTERDAM, Netherlands(AP) The Dutch crown prince says that in the future the route of the Olympic torch race should be limited to travels in Greece and the country hosting the games.
Willem-Alexander is quoted in De Telegraaf newspaper as saying ``this beautiful symbol of hope has become a target for protesters.'' He says it is an obvious target because of the media it attracts.
Willem-Alexander is a member of the International Olympic Committee.
Dutch parliament has debated the prince's involvement in the IOC and the Beijing Games.
The prince is quoted as saying in De Telegraaf's Wednesday edition that ``sport always goes before politics'' and that a major reason for holding the games is to offer a respite from political disagreements.
