For Immediate Release April 8, 2008 USA Archery Olympic Selection Shoot Wraps Up at the Chula Vista Olympic Training Center CHULA VISTA, Calif.-Competition at the USA Archery Second Olympic Selection Shoot concluded on Sunday at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista. This Selection Shoot was the second out of three selection events and is a crucial step in determining the 2008 U.S. Olympic Archery Team. The Chula Vista selection shoot narrowed the field to the top-eight men and the top-eight women. Those sixteen athletes will now go on to the final Olympic Selection Shoot, which will be held in Phoenix, Ariz., May 1-3. In Phoenix, the athletes will be dueling for a position on the 2008 Olympic Team. USA Archery will nominate two women and three men to the U.S. Archery Olympic Team. On the Men's side, 19-year old Brady Ellison (OTC Resident) leads the selection series, winning the men's tournament this past weekend. Butch Johnson is in second place and Vic Wunderle is in third. Jacob Wukie (OTC Resident), stands in seventh place overall in the series, after finishing fourth in the tournament. On the Women's side, Jenny Nichols took top honors for tournament and leads the selection series. Khatuna Lorig (OTC Resident) stands in second place after finishing second in this tournament. The second set of results (Men's Recurve/Women's Recurve) are the combined point totals for the two Olympic Selection tournaments (Conyers, Georgia and Chula Vista).
