Sochi 2014

Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games

The deadline to request media accreditation for the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games was Aug. 31, 2012.

The Olympic media accreditation process was open to:
• Daily or weekly newspapers (limited availability for weeklies)
• National news or sports magazines
• Web-based organizations with staff members providing original content
• Photographic media organizations with wide-ranging magazine, newspaper and web-based clientele

The United States Olympic Committee received a limited number of accreditations from the International Olympic Committee for allocation to U.S. media outlets. The USOC and the Olympic subcommittee of the Associated Press Sports Editors, including representatives of magazines, newspapers, websites and photographers, met in October 2012 to determine allocations. Requesting organizations were notified of the results in late October 2012.

Press by Name:
The USOC has now begun the second phase (Press by Name) of the media accreditation process for the 2014 Sochi Olympic Winter Games. This step is only for those organizations that have already been awarded accreditation by the USOC.

The deadline to submit all individual names and personal information to the USOC is Aug. 15, 2013.

Please note, media that do not submit information by the deadline (or incorrectly submitted) may not receive an OAIC (Olympic Identity Accreditation Card) prior to their arrival in Sochi. Therefore, those people with late submissions will need to acquire a visa in order to enter the country.

If you have any questions, please contact Peggy Manter (Peggy.Manter@usoc.org).

Non-Rights Holding Broadcasters:
All non-rights holding broadcasters are accredited directly by the IOC through Olympic.org. The deadline for all non-rights holding broadcasters to request media accreditation was Nov. 16, 2012.

Sochi 2014 Paralympic Winter Games

If you are interested in submitting a late request, please email peggy.manter@usoc.org. Late request will be considered immediately if any credentials are still available and if not, they will be placed on a waiting list.
