Health & Fitness Media Experience

Push yourself to eat, think and train like an Olympic & Paralympic athlete and gain key takeaways for your audience from five USOC sport performance professionals in sports nutrition, psychology, strength & conditioning and technology at the USOC Health & Fitness Media Experience. Also, learn about the unique challenges faced by U.S. Paralympians as they push their minds and bodies to overcome incredible odds.

  • Heather Richardson – 2010 Olympian, 2013 speedskating world champion
  • Rico Roman – 2012 sled hockey world champion, U.S. Army veteran
  • Louie Vito – 2010 Olympic halfpipe snowboarder, 2013 Euro X Games champion

9:45 a.m.                Media arrive

10 a.m.                   Kelly Skinner, USOC team leader, gives event overview, including introduction of USOC experts and athletes and the event format

10:15-10:30 a.m.     Station 1* – Nutrition

10:35-10:50 a.m.     Station 2* – Paralympics

10:55-11:10 a.m.     Station 3* – Psychology

11:15-11:30 a.m.     Station 4* – Strength & Conditioning

11:35-11:50 a.m.     Station 5* – Technology

11:55 a.m.              Lindsay Hogan, USOC communications director, gives closing remarks, and opens athlete Q&A

12:30-1:30 p.m.      Optional media lunch, provided by 24 Hour Fitness

*Media participants will be split into small groups and spread amongst the five stations. Stations will be rotated every 15 minutes until all media participants have visited each station.
