Program Specialist

Disabled Sports USA, a nonprofit organization, providing national leadership in sports and recreation opportunities for individuals with disabilities is seeking a Program Specialist for a full time, salaried position in Rockville, MD.  Responsibilities include:

  • Project management
  • Event coordination (some travel within the U.S. required)
    • Support and assist internal and external clients and partners
    • Establishing and maintaining relationships with clients, partner organizations and other stakeholders
  • Managing web based registration and event management systems
    • Database administration, to include: entry, generating reports, organizing and analyzing data
  • Creation and distribution of promotional materials and event calendars
  • Developing and delivering presentations to groups of clients and other stakeholders
Prerequisites:
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree
  • A minimum of 2 years relevant professional experience.  Relevant experience includes:  project management; event coordination; customer service; database administration
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
    • Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment
    •  Strong organizational, problem solving, and written and oral communication skills
      •  Clean driving record
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proficiency in Adobe Suite.  Experience with Photoshop, database applications and online registration systems
    • Experience supervising volunteers and/or other supervisory experience
