Always a hockey fanatic, Andy Yohe was a roller hockey player for the Bettendorf (Iowa) Young Guns before losing both legs in an accident in 1994. Yohe was run over while trying to jump onto a train. In 2003, he got back into hockey when he joined the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago (RIC) Blackhawks, where immediately showed his scoring touch by setting the club’s record for points in a season by a rookie.
Yohe was a member of Team USA in 2006 and helped the team win a bronze medal at the Paralympic Winter Games in Torino, Italy. Excited to compete once again in the Paralympic Games, Yohe helped the U.S. capture the gold medal at the 2010 Paralympic Winter Games in Vancouver, Canada.
Yohe graduated from Ashford University in Clinton, Iowa with a bachelor of arts in business administration. He currently resides in Rochester, N.Y., with his wife, Kathleen.
