He does continue to make use of training time on the short-track however due to his desire to finish his high school career in his hometown. He achieved Jr Cat 1 status this season. His favorite event is the 1000.
The summer before he was a freshman he raised funds for Right to Play by completing a solo grass-roots effort by riding his bike from Lakeport, MI to his home in Somers, NY, a total of 866 miles. He has been actively participating in humanitarian causes since, the latest being “Hanna-Scholars” which provides academic scholarships to girls in Costa Rica.
Next year he will be attending the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities.
