PERSONAL: Born Rachel Loren Wacholder on June 15, 1975 in Laguna Beach, Calif. ... Parents are Myron and Marolyn Wacholder... Rachel had a brother named Daniel and a sister named Ashley... Her husband is beach volleyball player Sean Scott. They were married in November 2007... Rachel played four years of high school volleyball at Laguna Beach High School. She also played two years of soccer and competed in one year of springboard diving. She was named California State Player of the Year... She graduated from the University of Colorado in 1997 with a degree in communication. She played volleyball all four years... She was named Big 12 All-Conference twice... She enjoys reading and cooking... Her favorite movie is Shawshank Redemption.

INTERNATIONAL HIGHLIGHTS: Rachel and partner Tyra Turner had their best finish as a team on the SWATCH FIVB World Tour on June 8, 2008, when they finished second at the event in Stare Jablonki, Poland... Prior to that, they had won the bronze medal at the FIVB Grand Slam tournament in Paris in 2007. They had to play in the qualifier to make it to the main draw... They finished fourth among the U.S. women's teams trying to qualify for the 2008 Olympic Games. The United States could only send two teams to the Olympics... Wacholder won two FIVB Grand Slam events in 2004 alongside Olympic gold-medal winner Kerri Walsh, filling in for an injured Misty May-Treanor.

DOMESTIC HIGHLIGHTS: Rachel's 21 AVP Tour championship appearances since the start of 2005 are the fourth most of any player. She also has finished two of the last three seasons as the third-ranked player.... Rachel and Elaine Youngs won three tournaments during the 2005 season: the Cincinnati Open, the Huntington Beach Open and the Boulder Open. In winning the AVP Cincinnati Open, Rachel and Elaine put a halt to the 50-match win streak held by Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh... In 2006, Rachel and Elaine claimed two more titles before parting ways... Playing with Jennifer Boss, Rachel made it to a pair of finals and four semifinals in total.... Rachel was chosen by Walsh in the Goddess of the Beach tournament in September 2006 to be her partner in the finals, helping Walsh win her first individual title. In 2007, Rachel and Tyra Turner paired up to form the fourth-ranked team on tour... In 2005, Rachel was named the Best Defensive Player and the Most Improved Player of the AVP women after posting the second most kills and second most digs on the Tour. In 2006, she again ranked second in kills (7.71 per game) and seventh in digs (5.17 per game), while in 2007 she was ninth in digs (5.49 per game).
