  • Named NCAA Swimmer of the Year, Pac-10 Swimmer of the Year and Honda Sports Award Winner for swimming in 2009
  • Gold medalist on the 800m free relay that broke the 17-year-old world record at the 2004 Olympic Games; also finished sixth in the 200m free
