Personal: Thompson graduated from East High School in Rochester, N.Y. in 2001, where she was a member of the National Honor Society and graduated in the top 10-percent of her class. She graduated from Ohio State University in 2006 with a degree in Sociology and Criminology. She competed in fencing all four years while in college, where she was a four-time NCAA All-American and was a member of the 2004 national championship fencing team. She currently participates in the Home Depot Olympic Job Program. Hobbies include reading. Music that is currently on her i-Pod includes lots of Jack Johnson, the Beatles and a little bit of everything. Favorite movie is Closer and favorite television show is Greys Anatomy. Her parents are Jay Thompson and Martha Ruffo. She has two sisters Emily and Metta Thompson. Metta is her twin sister and she competed on the fencing team at Ohio State and was a three-time All-American.
