Jamie Chen Subandhi is the daughter of Terembang and Peni Subandhi...Has one brother, Albert Subandhi...At 13 years-of-age, was the youngest member of the entire delegation for the 2003 United States Pan American Games Team...Is part of the Orange County Badminton Club Youth Development Group in Orange County, Calif...Graduated from La Quinta High School (Aztecs) in Westminster, Calif. In May of 2007...Received the Golden Aztec Award for maintaining a 4.0 grade point ratio for the 2003-04 school year...Received the Scholar Athlete Award all four years of high school...Was named an AP Scholar with Distinction and received the Academic Award for maintaining a 3.50 grade point ratio or higher for seven semesters...Received the High School All-American Award...Has twice been named MVP of the Garden Grove Badminton League...Was named Aztec of the Month and MVP for her school...Was named the Orange County Register Badminton Player of the Year and received their Athlete of the Month Award twice... Lists her hobbies as:  playing the guitar, keyboard and video games, as well as baking desserts...When asked what makes her unique, responded: "Whenever I go to a theme park, I always have to buy cotton candy.  I love baking cakes, cupcakes, cheesecakes and all desserts.  When I took my AP Biology class, my favorite part was dissecting the cat.  The most fun and interesting part was breaking open its jaw and opening up the skull flap to look at the brain.  I'm leaning towards becoming a doctor or surgeon so that's why I find that interesting.  I'm a Christian and like to travel.  I like to think of myself as kind, considerate, thoughtful and hard-working."
