INTERNATIONAL HIGHLIGHTS: 2013 – Took the silver medal with Brittany Hochevar at the NORCECA Beach Circuit event in the Dominican Republic (March 29-31). The team fell to the U.S. team of Jennifer Fopma and Brooke Sweat in the final. 2012 – Chose to pursue professional beach volleyball exclusively in 2012... Finished the season by winning the NORCECA Beach Circuit events in Aruba (with Tealle Hunkus on 11/30-12-2) and Trinidad & Tobago (with Emily Day on 11/17-19)... Tied for 17th with Heather Hughes at the FIVB Bangsaen Thailand Open (10/23-28)... Won the World University Championship in Maceio, Brazil with Emily Day (9/12-16)... Finished fourth at the FIVB Junior World Championships with Sara Hughes... Finished second at the NORCECA Beach Circuit event in Chula Vista, Calif. (9/28-30) with Morgan Beck... Placed 17th at the FIVB Berlin Grand Slam with Nicole Branagh (7/11-15)... Placed 17th at the FIVB A1 Grand Slam in Klagenfurt, Austria with Tara Roenicke. 2011 – Ross and Tara Roenicke competed in the FIVB World Tour event in Quebec but lost in the country quota bracket.  2010 – Ross and Tara Roenicke won the FIVB Beach Junior World Championship on Sept. 16-19 in Alanya, Turkey, making them the United States’ first medalists in the event and making Summer the first person ever to win both the Junior and Youth World Championships in the same year. Summer and Tara had a record of 7-0 in matches and 14-3 in sets… Summer and Roenick placed sixth at the NORCECA Circuit event in Chula Vista, Calif., winning $300 as a team… Summer and partner Jane Croson won the FIVB Youth World Championship on July 29-Aug. 1 in Porto Portugal. They were the first U.S. women’s team to medal in the event and the first U.S. team to win the gold medal. Summer and Jane had a match record of 7-0 and a set record of 14-3. 2009 – Ross and Jazmin Machado finished fifth at the FIVB Junior World Championships on Sept. 17-20 in Blackpool, England… Summer and partner Jane Croson placed fifth at the FIVB Youth World Championships on Aug. 19-22… Summer and partner Tara Roenicke won the gold medal at the Australian Youth Olympic Festival on Jan. 14-18 in Sydney. 2008 – Ross and Jane Croson became the youngest team ever to compete at the FIVB Junior World Championships in Brighton, England (9/7-12). The pair placed ninth… Summer was also on the Youth National Training Team.

DOMESTIC HIGHLIGHTS: 2012 – Played in four Jose Cuervo Pro Beach Series tournaments with her best finish ninth with Kim Hill in Fort Lauderdale... Transferred from Washington to Pepperdine to play sand volleyball and won the inaugural AVCA Collegiate Sand Volleyball National Championship in Gulf Shores, Ala. (4/28-29) with Caitlin Racich. Pepperdine won the team title... Ross and Racich won the USA Volleyball Beach Collegiate Challenge in Hermosa Beach, Calif., (4/14-15) and led Pepperdine to the team title. 2011 – Finished third at the USA Volleyball Beach IDQ with Tara Roenicke. 2010 – Ross and Jane Croson qualified for the AVP event in Santa Barbara, Calif., and went on to finish 13th… Summer and Petia Yanchulova qualified for the AVP event in Virginia Beach and finished 17th. They took the team of Olympians Nicole Branagh and Misty May-Treanor to three sets before losing 15-13 in the tiebreaker... Ross and Jane Croson also qualified for the AVP event in Hermosa Beach and finished 25th. 2009 – Ross and Natalie Hagglund, ages 16 and 17 respectively, became the youngest team to ever qualify for an AVP main draw when they did so at the Manhattan Beach Open on July 17. The pair finished 24th… Summer also tried to qualify for AVP Hermosa Beach with Jane Croson. 2008 – Summer competed in her first AVP event in Long Beach with Caitlyn Murphy. The pair lost its only qualifying match. 2005 – Began playing volleyball in 2005 for the Coast Volleyball Club in Carlsbad, Calif.

OTHER VOLLEYBALL HIGHLIGHTS: 2011 – Played right outside hitter for the University of Washington... Led the team in aces with 27... Finished fifth in total attacks. Led the Huskies (24-8, ranked 17th in the final coaches' poll) in kills twice, with a high of 14 against California in October. 2010 – Fifth place with Coast VBC in the 18 Open at the USAV Girls’ Junior National Championships. 2009 – Fifth place with Coast VBC in the 18 Open at the USAV Girls’ Junior National Championships. 2008 – 15th place with Laguna Beach VBC 16-1 Hava in the 16 Open at the USAV Girls’ Junior National Championships… Sophomore starting outside hitter for Carlsbad High School’s varsity volleyball team… All-tournament team at the San Diego Fall Classic, where her team took third place… Named Carlsbad High School Best Offensive Player as the team finished first in the Palomar League. 2007 – Third place with Encinitas Wave 14-1 in the 14 Open at the USAV Girls’ Junior National Championships... Freshman starting opposite for Carlsbad varsity volleyball team, which finished first in the Avacado League and second in the CIF San Diego Section. 2006 – Third place with Encinitas Wave 13-1 at USAV Girls’ Junior National Championships. 2005 – Fifth place with Encinitas Wave 12-1 at USAV Girls’ Junior National Championships.

PERSONAL: Born Summer Noel Ross in1992 in San Diego, Calif. … Parents are Tony and Kathy Ross… Kathy Ross played beach volleyball on the WPVA Tour… Has one brother, Chase, who plays beach volleyball and plays indoor volleyball for Pepperdine University… Chase played in the 2009 FIVB Junior World Championship, but did not advance out of pool play… Home schooled through the Carlsbad Seaside Academy… Family has two dogs, Boston Terriers named Jerry and Newman… Her favorite food is shrimp… Her favorite book is the Bible… Her favorite movies are Happy Gilmore and Hot Rod… Ross's most admired person is Jesus because “he provides a perfect example”… Volunteers with church’s English as a second language program and vacation Bible school. Also plays the piano… The craziest thing Ross has ever done is climbing the Sydney Harbor Bridge in 2009 after she and partner Tara Roenick won the Australian Youth Olympic Festival… Loves to build things. Ross and her father built a chariot to carry people or dogs. It is two bicycle wheels side by side with a beach chair in between. It hooks up to a bicycle. Summer and her dad also built a queen-sized loft for her room.

HONORS: 2010 – Named the USA Volleyball Female Beach Volleyball Player of the Year.
