Beth Requist proved to be a quick-study in the sport of Nordic skiing. With only two years of experience, she has already earned two world cup podiums. Requist may appear humble and reserved, but she has a fiercely competitive and fearless side too. On the anniversary of the cliff-jumping accident that left her paralyzed two and a half years ago, Requist commemorates the date by jumping even further - she goes skydiving.
Requist has been an athletic and adventurous person her whole life. Before her injury, Requist worked as a flight attendant and stayed active snowboarding, biking and running. Within weeks of leaving the hospital, she was competing in handcycling races and contacting the National Sports Center for the Disabled to find out how she could get into a sit-ski.
