Krista Pylkki first began competing in track & field just six years ago.  She’s focused here energy on the sport and it’s paid off with a spot on the 2011 U.S. IPC Athletics World Championships Team.

Pylkki, who was born with mild cerebral palsy, trains out of the Courage Center in her hometown of St. Paul, Minn. She says she is “really proud and excited to represent the U.S.” at the world championships in Christchurch, New Zealand and her long-term goal is be part of Team USA at the 2012 Paralympic Games in London.

At just 16 years old, Pylkki is one of the youngest members of the U.S. team competing at the 2011 world championships.
