Fun Facts: Roy Perkins was born without hands or feet and didn't feel comfortable with swimming until age 13. Before finding his talent in the pool, Perkins played other sports like basketball and soccer, but swimming is where he truly shined. Just months after learning to swim, Perkins competed in the San Diego Triathlon Challenge, which included a 1.2-mile ocean swim. Perkins studied earth systems at Stanford University.
