PERSONAL: Born Christopher William Nugent on May 17, 1995 to parents Bill and Cathy… Has one brother, Dan (1993)… Nicknamed “Nuge”… Father played AA/Open club volleyball from 1986-2000… Mother  played volleyball at Princeton (1981-1985) as well as club AA/Open volleyball from 1985-1992… Chris’s favorite food is chicken parmesan… He listens to hip-hop/rap music and his favorite musicians are Eminem and Kid Cudi… His favorite movie is Anchorman and his favorite actor is Mark Wahlberg… Chris’s favorite professional team is the New York Giants and his favorite athlete is LeBron James… He enjoys playing beach volleyball as well as indoor… He most admires dad because he taught Chris much of what he knows about volleyball and all sports… The happiest moment in his life was winning his first state championship… In 2009, he and his family went on a mission trip to Bolivia where they helped build parts of an orphanage and spent time with the kids. Chris says, “It wasn’t a typical vacation for us, but it’s one we’ll never forget. My brother and I actually got to use the Spanish we had studied in school for so many years, and got to see just how lucky we were to be a part of a family here in the US and to experience and have all the things we do.”

USA VOLLEYBALL HIGHLIGHTS: 2013 – Selected to the U.S. Boys’ Youth National Team.

HIGH SCHOOL/CLUB HIGHLIGHTS: High school team has won two New Jersey State Championships. 2012 – Member of Warren SixPak club team that earned 15th place at 2012 Junior Nationals… Named one of Volleyball Magazine’s All-Americans... Named New Jersey Player of the Year by the Star Ledger.
