Matt Lesperance has been playing wheelchair basketball since he was nine years old.  These days, as a star at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, Lesperance is sure to be a force on the U.S. Paralympic Men’s Wheelchair Basketball Team for years to come. He made his Paralympic Games debut in Beijing.

Lesperance is still relatively new to the international wheelchair basketball scene, having never competed on the international level prior to his selection to the U.S. team in 2008. He says his parents have supported his basketball career since the beginning and that they have helped him get to where he is today.
