Zac Kay has been snowboarding nearly half his life and turned a hobby into a passion. With solid results during the 2005 NorAm, Europa and South American Cup series, he got the nod form U.S. Snowboarding to step up to the World Cup in 2006, but cemented his place in the sport by winning the ‘06 NorAm title.
The 2009 season was solid for Kay who hit top 30 results in the World Cup six times during the season. But Kay really took it a step up as he reeled in his career best World Cup result with a 13th in the Netherlands. After the eraly season success Kay went on to make the World Championship team and finish the season with a 10th at the NorAm Cup in Quebec.
His parents taught him how to ski, then good friend, Ty Parks, showed him the light at the age of 10. Due to a lack of freestyle terrain or even a freestyle scene at the local mountain, Kay and friend, Daniel Hester, started their own snowboard race team at the age of 13.
Biking, surfing, hiking, golfing, wakeboarding - pretty much anything outdoors. Digs: fish tacos, anything but country music, The Big Lebowski and his dog named Drake (half chocolate lab, half rottweiler).
