PERSONAL: Born Oct. 29, 1980 in Arlington, Texas… Mother is Debra Ivy… Ashley also as an older sister named Laura who played volleyball at Southwest Texas State… Ashley played at Arlington Lamar High School where she was named the 1998 Dallas Area Player of the Year and a two-time First Team All-Area selection by the Dallas Morning News and the Fort Worth Star-Telegram… Ashley was a two-year captain of the Lamar basketball team, earning Second Team All-Area in basketball as a sophomore and junior… Ashley also was a high jumper and hurdler for the school's track squad… Ashley graduated from high school in 1999 with a 4.2 GPA and was a member of the National Honor Society… Ashley played club volleyball for the North Dallas Juniors… In 1999, Ashley was a member of the U.S. Junior National Team that competed in the World Junior Championships in Canada… Ashley attended Stanford from 1999-2004 and got both a bachelor of science and masters of science in earth systems/chemistry… Besides playing volleyball, Ashley competed for two years in high jump for Stanford… Ashley started playing beach volleyball at a club in Austin, Texas, where she had moved to become a volleyball coach… Favorite food is Tex Mex… Favorite book is The Da Vinci Code… Favorite movies are Pretty Woman and Shining Through… Favorite musical group is the Dave Matthews Band… Favorite professional team is the Dallas Cowboys… Her most admired people are her mother and sister because they “made me the person I am today”… Happiest moment in life was finishing her masters degree at Stanford… Happiest moment in sport was winning the NCAA championship in 2001.

INTERNATIONAL HIGHLIGHTS: 2009 – Ashley and partner Lauren Fendrick competed in nine FIVB World Tour events. Their best finish was fourth place in Phuket, Thailand… They won $21,550 and finished the season ranked 61st. 2008 – Ashley and Lauren Fendrick competed in three FIVB World Tour events. Their best finish was fifth in Phuket, Thailand. They won $11,250 and finished the season ranked 92nd… Ashley and Lauren also competed in two FIVB Challenger and Satellite events and won both. They won a total of $3,500. 2007 – Ashley competed at an FIVB Challenger event with partner Janelle Allen in Hong Kong and finished seventh. They won $750… Ashley competed at an FIVB Challenger event in Geroskipou, Cyprus with partner Stacy Rouwenhorst and finished 21st.
