Personal: At age two, Grogan was diagnosed with focal scleroderma, a condition rarely found in children, which causes deposits of collagen in the skin and organs. As a result, part of her left leg was amputated at age seven. She began swimming at age seven at the Macon Waves Swim Club in Georgia. In high school, she joined the Georgia Blazers, a state team for youth with physical and visual disabilities and a branch of BlazeSports America, a Paralympic Sport Club which offers adaptive programs in various sports throughout the country....Is a “Double Dogger,” having attended the University of Georgia for both her undergraduate and graduate degree programs…Knows Braille, even though she is not visually impaired…Born in the same hospital as teammate Reilly Boyt…Favorite movie is Sleepless in Seattle.
