Fun Facts: Alyssa Gialamas was born with arthrogryposis, which is a disorder that affects the use of joints and muscles. While growing up, Gialamas had difficulty with her jaws, knees and feet. She entered a pool at a young age, and instantly became attached. After years of competing, Gialamas was selected to represent Team USA at the London 2012 Paralympic Games, where she came in fifth place.
