Personal
Sophie started playing handball at the age of 7 with the local German club TSV Ismaning. She played in various regional All-Star teams, including Bavarian All-Stars born 1994.

In 2009, she began competing for the Team USA Youth National Team. After moving to the USA in 2010 for high school, she made the U.S. Senior Women’s National Team. Later in 2010, Sophie decided to move to Bjerringbro, Denmark, where she played for Bjerringbro FH. After competing in the 
2011 Pan American Games (Guadalajara, Mexico) as a member of Team USA, she stayed in the U.S., living with her grandparents in Copperas Cove, TX.

In the summer of 2012, Sophie moved to Aarhus, Denmark, where she played for SK Aarhus U18, a 1st Division Club. After her last successful youth league season with SK Aarhus, Sophie moved to Kiel, Germany. She started an apprenticeship at CommEvent Management, which organizes sport events, including handball camps all over Germany.
