INTERESTING NOTE: “I spent most of my youth volleyball career as an outside hitter. As I grew older (and not any taller), my coaches urged me to move into the libero position because I was “too short to be an outside hitter at a Division I university”. So, I made the switch to libero at age 16, and played two club seasons at that position. Shortly after making this switch I committed, as a libero, to Kansas State University. During my first season at Kansas State University, I played defensive specialist, and actually ended up seeing some time in the front row as an outside hitter. Then, in the spring of my sophomore year (2010), my coaches at Kansas State decided that I possessed the qualities and athleticism that could potentially make me a good setter. I ended up setting for the Wildcats in 2010, and stayed in that position until my career there was over. I currently have only been setting now for about four years. I always encourage young volleyball players to get good at all of the skills in volleyball. Being a well-rounded volleyball player can provide you with more opportunities on the court.”
