Tri Bourne blocks at a 2013 NORCECA Tour event.

“We kept getting better toward the end of the year (in 2013). Having this whole offseason really helped us out. He’s more efficient with everything he does and I think that’s a big part of it. He learned some more ways to play offense inside out, he really picked up his blocking. He’s come a long way and I think there’s more to come.” John Hyden on Tri Bourne in the Daily Breeze

“I made the switch to beach, because I grew up in Hawaii and I’m used to being at the beach every day. I actually learned how to play volleyball on the beach, it kind of just makes me feel at home. I had a long time playing indoor, so I think it’s about that time for me. I always kind of wondered how I would match up with these guys, once I finally got to play them. So, I can put that to the test. My expectations are high, because I’ve grown up watching the AVP and it’s something that I’ve always wanted to do. It doesn’t matter what the courts or the event looks like, because I’ll come out and play and enjoy myself.”
