Karoline Elliot Borg is  the older sister of Youth National Team Pool player Anja Borg and also has two older brothers. Born in Norway, the left-handed right winger holds American citizenship in addition to Norwegian citizenship as her mother, who passed away in 1999, is an American from California. She says that "playing for the USA gives me a great deal of experience, pride, and reinforces my feeling of being an American - a great way to honor the memory of my mother."  She hopes to represent the red, white, and blue in the World Championships and Olympics. Handball consumes Borg's life as she loves to be at training. While playing for Team USA in 2009 against Poland, she re-broke her foot which forced to have a screw inserted into her bone. Borg is part of a special developmental program hosted by the Norwegian Handball Association and was also picked to play on a regional All-Star team.  Her U15 team (Vollen) won their regional championships in beach handball. Borg is also a certified handball referee and has taken level 1 of the coaching education offered by the Norwegian Handball Association. Outside of handball, the elder Borg sister enjoys TV shows like Glee, One Tree Hill, and Grey's Anatomy. Additionally, she is studying chemistry, biology, and mathematics at the University of Oslo. Her goal is start on a Master's program next fall in nutritional physiology.
