One of Americas up and comers in the mens long jump, Allmond nearly qualified for the 2005 World Outdoor Championships when he placed fourth at the 2005 USA Outdoor Championships in June in Carson, Calif. Allmond set a new personal best of 8.10 meters/26 feet, 7 inches, with his runner-up finish at the 2004 U.S. Olympic Trials, but did not make the Olympic qualifying standard. As a prep he lettered in track for two years, as well as basketball ... finished fourth in the state in the 400m in 1999team finished third at the CIF in 2000. A team captain and four-time All-American at South Carolina, where he majored in Advertising.
